New Balance 持續使用3D打印機技術製造最新波鞋，創新設計工作室New Balance總經理Katherine Petrecca說這項嶄新的製造技術現在僅在美國New Balance工廠內擴展，進一步成為3D打印製造領域的領導者。
通過新平衡創新設計工作室（New Balance Innovation Design Studio）提出的最初概念-基於對前腳技術的日益關注，鞋跟需要具有緩衝性，同時要減輕重量。
3D打印應用在鞋製造或會產生很大影響，因從一般用戶到運動員到時尚達人，每個人都需要穿戴。
